Mad Day drops you right into an absolute mess of an alien invasion. The story is pretty goofy aliens have landed on Earth, and out of all things, they decided to abduct your purple pet octopus named Fluffy. You play as a totally ticked-off guy who builds an absolute war machine out of a truck to chase them down. It's a non-stop action game that blends vehicular combat with side-scrolling platform shooting as you try to smash your way to the alien mothership.
The Flow of the Game
Each run starts inside your customized truck. You plow forward automatically down the highway, smashing through concrete barriers, driving over hills, and blowing up alien scout ships with your mounted weapons. Eventually, your ride will get totaled or you will hit a checkpoint where you jump out of the driver's seat. From there, you keep pushing forward on foot, swapping your truck missiles for a trusty shotgun to blast waves of invaders point-blank.
The Controls
The configuration uses only a couple of keys, so you can focus entirely on timing your jumps:
Spacebar: Press this to make your truck or your character jump into the air. Perfect for clearing massive craters, spikes, or low-flying lasers.
X Key / Up Arrow: Tap this to launch a heavy rocket from your truck's artillery mount to instantly vaporize massive obstacles blocking the asphalt.
Upgrades and the Garage Shop
You aren't going to make it very far on your first couple of attempts because the alien defense grid is way too tough. Every run earns you coins based on how many enemies you turned to dust. Take that cash to the shop to buy critical upgrades:
- Vehicle Gear: Buy heavier armor plates, faster reload speeds for your truck's rocket launcher, or a bigger primary gun.
- Character Clothing: You can buy different outfits and hats for your character. These aren't just for looks—different hats give you active passive boosts during the on-foot segments.
- Guns: Upgrade your handheld weapons so you don't get swarmed by the little green runners once you are out of your car.
Survival Tactics
- Don't just spam your rockets. Save them for when you see huge concrete walls or high-health alien barricades that will completely stop your momentum.
- Watch the sky closely. The alien ships love to drop lasers right in front of your tires, so memorize the attack patterns to jump over them early.
